Building Trust in AI: “Designing for Consent” Workshop

On 19th Feb 2018 I attended this highly entertaining workshop organised by the  CHERISHDE project at the Loughboro London campus in Stratford. There was a deliberate provocative mix of lawyers, AI developers and researchers and HCI people. I got to do a two-handed talk with our long term collaborator, the marvellous Dan O’Hara from the New College of the Humanities about the potential pitfalls of AI.  I managed to sneak in references to some our old projects including GetLostBot, the quantified dog, and robots from the future as well as highlighting current NorSC work on Speakr and mad banking ‘bots.  I even managed to drag Dan to @tfeltwell’s favourite Stratford drinking venue – the King Edward VII pub – afterwards.
